Where they differ

MyStartPage.com presents a customizable grid of 40+ widgets, including news, stocks and crypto. The product is listed as free and ad-free. Sync is cloud-based after sign-in; the live demo does not require an account.

Dayblaster uses a single default layout rather than an empty widget grid. Settings can stay in localStorage with no account. The free tier may show ads; Pro is a one time $10 purchase that removes ads and raises the widget limit.

The official MyStartPage homepage calls the product a personal digital home base. It lists a fully customizable start page with 40+ widgets, including weather, news, stocks and crypto, to-dos, bookmarks, notes, and games, arranged by drag-and-drop and synced to the cloud. The FAQ on that page states the product is completely free with no ads, and that you can use it as a browser start page or new tab page on any device. A live demo is offered with no login. Sign-up is listed as free, with no credit card.

The same homepage lists drag, drop, and resize on a grid, per-device layouts so a desktop layout is not overwritten by mobile, multiple spaces (Personal, Work, Finance are the examples given), themes and presets, cloud sync after sign-in with the line that nothing is stored locally when you sign in, 7 layout backups you can restore, live market data, and AI news summaries from BBC, CNN, Reuters and more. The crypto widgets page lists a watchlist, portfolio, live prices, a price ticker, gas fees, and a Fear and Greed index. A first-party Chrome or Firefox store listing is not on mystartpage.com.

Pricing, storage, and default layout

MyStartPage lists all widgets and all features with no paywalls. Dayblaster pricing on this site is free, or $10 one time for Pro. Pro is not a subscription. The free Dayblaster page may show ads and affiliate links. Pro removes ad banners, raises the widget dock from 7 to 14, and adds Pro gradient backgrounds plus Personal, Work, and Chill page profiles. Those Dayblaster facts come from this site’s facts and pricing pages.

Storage is the other split. MyStartPage’s official site says signed-in layouts sync in the cloud and that nothing is stored locally in that mode. Dayblaster can stay entirely in the browser with no account. A free Dayblaster account is optional for cloud sync. Signed-in Dayblaster users can restore from cloud version history. The product states the last 30 saved versions are kept. Anyone can download or restore a local backup file. MyStartPage lists 7 layout backups on the official homepage.

Default layout also differs. MyStartPage is a grid you fill. Dayblaster opens with shortcut zones, a news ticker from Google News RSS, and a markets ticker of major indices and currency pairs. You can add widgets to a Dayblaster dock. You do not start from an empty board.

Choose MyStartPage if

You want a free, ad-free page you can rearrange, including stock/crypto widgets and multiple spaces, and you are comfortable signing in so the layout syncs in the cloud.

Choose Dayblaster if

You want a start page that already has shortcuts, headlines and indices, you prefer local storage unless you opt into an account, and you accept ads on the free tier or a one time $10 to remove them.

Both can be opened as a website. MyStartPage’s official FAQ says any device. Dayblaster’s homepage guide covers Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave, and Opera for the homepage URL. Dayblaster also ships a Chrome new-tab extension that opens https://www.dayblaster.com/. We did not treat mystart.com or mystartpage.net as this product.
