Where they differ

TickerTab is built as a market terminal for every new Chrome tab: indices, a watchlist, movers, news, fundamentals and options. Roadmap items on the official site (notifications, screener, brokerage integrations and others) are labelled as not available yet, so they are not treated as current features here.

Dayblaster is a general start page. Markets are one bar among shortcuts, news and productivity widgets. It is meant to be used as a homepage in several browsers, not only as a Chrome new-tab override.

The official TickerTab homepage describes the product as a new tab for markets. It lists live market indices, a personal watchlist you can add to, reorder, and import, top movers (daily gainers and losers), curated financial headlines, fundamentals (P/E, margins, valuation, and 52-week ranges), full options chains (calls, puts, strikes, bid/ask, volume, and open interest), ticker search with autocomplete across listed global exchanges, and customizable quick links to trading tools. The page states Free and No account required. It also states anonymous usage analytics only, with an opt-out anytime, and no personal data.

The Chrome Web Store listing (checked October 2026) matches that Chrome new-tab job. It names example tickers and ETFs such as SPY, QQQ, and BTC-USD, example quick links such as Schwab, Bloomberg, CNBC, and Yahoo Finance, and states that search is powered by Yahoo Search. Firefox, Safari, and a standalone web homepage are not listed on those pages.

Pricing, accounts, and market depth

TickerTab does not list a paid plan on the official site or the store listing we read. Dayblaster pricing on this site is free, or $10 one time for Pro. Pro is not a subscription. The free Dayblaster page may show ads. Pro removes ad banners, raises the widget dock from 7 to 14, and adds Pro backgrounds and page profiles. Those Dayblaster facts come from this site’s facts and pricing pages. TickerTab’s official site says no account is required. Dayblaster also works without an account. A Dayblaster account is optional for cloud sync and the last 30 saved versions.

Market depth is the other split. TickerTab’s official feature list is a watchlist, movers, fundamentals, and options chains. Dayblaster’s markets bar in the product code includes S&P 500, NASDAQ Composite, Dow Jones, Nikkei 225, FTSE 100, CAC 40, DAX, SSE Composite, and Euronext 100, plus a local index by country and currency rates. Dayblaster does not list options chains, a P/E panel, or a personal stock watchlist. News on Dayblaster is a Google News RSS tracker. News on TickerTab is financial headlines from listed publishers on that dashboard.

Choose TickerTab if

You mainly want live tickers, watchlists and options data when you open a Chrome tab, and you do not need a to-do list, calendar or multi-zone shortcut board.

Choose Dayblaster if

You want one page for work and fun shortcuts, headlines and a simpler index ticker, including browsers other than Chrome.

Both can be used without paying on the pages we checked. TickerTab is a Chrome new-tab extension. Dayblaster is a website you can set as a homepage in the browsers covered by this site’s homepage guide, plus an optional Chrome new-tab extension that opens https://www.dayblaster.com/. If you trade from one Chrome profile and want options chains on every tab, TickerTab matches that job. If you want work and fun shortcut zones next to headlines, Dayblaster matches that job. A Trader setup kit on this site swaps Dayblaster shortcuts only. It does not add TickerTab-style options data.
